What have you been up to this past week?
On Thursday we wished my daughter a
safe trip as she drove across the
country to her new home.
It was very difficult parting ways, and lots
of worrying on my part as she was driving
the entire way from New Hampshire to
Colorado.
Since then she has safely arrived, and has
begun the process of unpacking and
getting situated.
For me it is strange to have her so far away,
but it's also good to know that she is
capable of living independently.
I'm sure there are many others who can
commiserate with me on having their
children move far away. How do you
keep in contact? I plan on lots
Skype-ing!
Now I'm ready to see what you
all have to share! Are you ready to find
some new blogs to read? And perhaps
gain some new followers?
Or maybe you'd like to grow your social networks,
or make a sale or in your Etsy shop?
Then this party's for YOU!
The party normally runs from Thursday mornings
at 6 am US EST until 3 am US EST Monday.

I can't even imagine sending my babies that far away....not yet anyway. Good luck to you, momma!

It is a very strange feeling! Thank you Shelbee :)
DeleteI feel very spoiled that my kids are still all in state. I realize that it could change at any time, so it keeps me thankful for this season.
ReplyDeleteYou are very fortunate Michele, although you do never know what decision a grown child will make. Thank you for stopping by :)
DeleteHaving your kids move far away sounds awful! It's a good thing God gives us grace even for the hard things and I hope all goes well. Thank you for the party. :)
ReplyDeleteIt is awful, but I'm handling it pretty well :) Thank you for the words of wisdom and for sharing!
DeleteAw, I bet that was such a bittersweet moment.. it's never easy to say good bye but how wonderful that you have given her wings and confidence enough to soar.
ReplyDeleteThat is a wonderful way to look at my situation! Makes me feel good to think of it that way. Thank you!!
DeleteI cannot even begin to think of how hard that is to be so far from her! Such an exciting time in her life, though! I hope your June has gotten off to a swell start!
ReplyDeleteHi Lisa! June is flying right by just as every month seems to lately. Thank you for linking up :)
DeleteAww I can imagine how hard it is for you Paula :( I remember my 2 boys going off to Uni.

It is hard, but I will adjust. I guess it's a good thing I have my three year old who keeps me so busy that I don't have much down time to dwell on it. Thank you for stopping by!

I've had many life changes recently which seem to be the norm! But what's life without a little excitement? Thank you for linking up :)
DeleteWow, your daughter is brave to drive that far. Best wishes to her and to you, Mom! I can only imagine how this must be pulling on your heart strings!
ReplyDeleteThat was super brave of her! She was the one who when she got her driver's license didn't know how to get anywhere on her own. Thank you for your nice comment and for sharing with the party :)
DeleteThanks for hosting, Paula! All the best to you and your daughter.
ReplyDeleteThank you Amy!! Hope you're having a great weekend :)
DeletePaula, what good news that your daughter has arrived in Colorado and is settling in. I think you will be able to stay in touch now that there are ways to using the internet. Thank you for hosting. Happy week!

I was so relieved when she let me know she had arrived! I hadn't slept in two nights from worrying. We will definitely be Skyping and Facetiming! Thank you for linking up :))
DeleteI remember those days when my children went off. it is so difficult. I think I always knew that mine would not stay in the area and they didn't. I am in Florida and my son is in Vermont and my daughter was in California. Can't get too much father away. A year ago, my daughter moved to central Florida which is only 4 hours away.
ReplyDeleteShe will do well and so will you.
Hugs,
Bev
Oh goodness they all went far! At least four hours is a doable drive for visiting. The others made it more difficult! I assume I will get used to it eventually. And who knows, maybe one day I'll make a move to be near her. Thank you so much for the nice comment and for sharing with the party :)
DeleteThanks so much for sharing Marilyn!!
ReplyDeleteI am glad she made it safe. I remember when my daughter went to New Hampshire from California for a year of study at UNH. We got through it good. We made it through and you will do it,.
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting and hope you are having a wonderful weekend
My first party here! Yay! Adding this party to my list. Best of luck to your daughter in her new home, and sending positive thoughts your way for when you are feeling a little down. Thank goodness for technology these days in that we can call, text, face time, etc to help feel like loved ones aren't so far away after all.
