How To Avoid Bad Kitchen Odors

Almost every homeowner can recall a time when they noticed some
unidentified bad smell coming from some unknown place in the kitchen. The worst
part is that the source of these odors can be pretty tricky to find and
eliminate. When you’ve got a smell that you want to eliminate, one good
solution is to leave odor-absorbing ingredients like baking soda, coffee
grinds, or white vinegar out in the kitchen for a couple of days. But why go to
all that trouble when you can just prevent those odors in the first place? Here
are some tips for nipping bad kitchen smells in the bud before they develop.
Always make sure that when you are cooking, you are cleaning
as you go. To use an example, let’s say you notice that you spilled some milk
while making mashed potatoes. Always clean a spill immediately. Otherwise, you
may forget and suddenly find yourself dealing with the smell of sour milk.
The same principle applies to meals. Remember to always wash
your dishes as they become dirty. Never allow dishes to sit in your sink for more
than 2 days (or even 1 day) as leftover foods can start to smell bad quickly. So
always be sure to wash those dishes promptly!
Lastly, when you have leftovers, remember to always place them
in plastic containers. By effectively sealing in an airtight container, you’ll
keep the food fresh and prevent unwanted smells in the kitchen.
And remember! For those people who frequently use oil when
cooking, be sure to dispose of the oil as quickly as possible. Instead of
reusing the oil, go ahead and discard it so that the aroma doesn’t linger.
